Ring in the season in the beautifully decorated lobby of the historic Willard Hotel — the very space where “lobbying” got its name. Enjoy beloved traditional and early fare, including English medieval carols, Praetorius’ Es ist ein Ros’ entsprungen (Lo, How a Rose), Daniel Read’s rousing Sherburne, and much more. As always, the festivities will end with a sing-along of Franz Gruber’s own early setting of his beloved Stille Nacht (Silent Night).

From the canals of Venice into the cultural crossroads of Padua and Brescia, where the Alps rise nearby, this program explores the sacred riches of Northern Italy’s early Baroque. Vespers Beyond Venice showcases vibrant motets and psalm settings that echo with spiritual grandeur. At the heart of the program is the first modern performance of one of Leandro Gallerano’s 1629 Vespers settings, a rediscovered masterpiece that blends opulent sonority with intimate devotion.
